Why Recycle Your Electronics?

Although there are tens of millions of computers out there, the useful life is normally less than 3 years and shrinking, and advances in architecture, operating speeds and software development are rapidly rendering formerly "cutting-edge" electronics obsolete. So where do we stockpile this graveyard for dead technology? The answer is that in most cases PCs and other electronics are merely chopped up, crushed and sent to a dump. This electronic waste contains significant quantities of hazardous materials, such as lead and mercury. Recycle your e-waste to ensure toxic materials are kept out of our local landfills.

Greendropoff can safely dispose of and recycle these devices as well ensuring that a strict “No Landfill” policy is implemented. Through a sophisticated process, a de-manufacturing of the used electronics is accomplished that enables the recovery and ultimate reuse of many valuable, yet potentially hazardous resources. Materials recovered include plastics, metals, leaded and unleaded glass, circuit boards, power supplies, and drives. The unique sorting systems insures that all material generated from the de-manufacturing operation are Ewaste according to applicable local, state and federal regulations. No equipment processed will go to a landfill. All material will go back into the production stream closing the end of life loop.

How it Works!

Step One
Bring all of your e waste to the Greendropoff Collection Center.
There will be someone there to unload your e-waste
Step Two
Greendropoff  will classify the e-waste. The monitors and TVs (CRTs) are properly boxed or palletized for shipping.
Step Three
These CRTs along with most of the peripherals are sent directly to certified “Recycling Centers” that meet all federal, state, and local regulations. There the CRTs are "cancelled" and the lead is removed. The glass, plastic, and metals are individually processed and sent to State Approved Vendors. Ultimately a manufacturer will reuse this material to make new products.
